September 2005
At age 51 with 27 ½ years with a major corp. I found out that they were going to close the facility I was working at. Even though they were giving us a 2 year notice it still left me 5 months short of getting my 30 years. I knew at that time I needed to do something to change my financial position.
Through a very good friend I was introduced to Real Estate investing. His first suggestion was to go to Boot Camp. I looked at the cost and thought it was too much money. When he told me that John would show me how to get all of my money back plus more in the first 90 days I thought why not. I knew that in order to get ahead in life you need to take a chance every once in a while. I checked him out and asked some people that had taken his seminar and I became a believer.
I want to tell you that it was the most life changing experience I had ever had and I haven't looked back since. I went out and bought my first house 2 weeks out of the Boot Camp and 3 weeks later I bought my second one and I was on my way.
They never did close the facility I was at and since then I have retired with 32 years, in April of this year, had well over 25 deals and I still had 14 houses with a cash flow of about $3000.00 per month. Now with the Phoenix market going so well I have cashed out on 3 or 4 properties and I am closing on another one today and will put $70,000.00 in my jeans. Not bad for a 55 year old ex-mechanic.
I have just purchased at Mobile Home Park in Oklahoma with 122 spaces and with enough empty spaces that it has a tremendous upside. Over the next 3 years I will fill this park and have a cash flow of about $200,000.00 per year. I think I might do some traveling then and maybe buy some Mobile Home Parks or maybe an Apartment Building or two. Why not, with everything I have learned and the great people I have met along the way anything is possible.
And I owe it all to taking a chance with John's Boot Camp and than just doing what I was taught.
